Description
Our story begins with two Armenian immigrants, Mark Balaban and Armen Tertsagian, who settled in Washington's Cashmere Valley. There they purchased an apple farm they named Liberty Orchards in honor of their new homeland. To make use of their excess fruit they created a new treat based on a candy they had loved as children and Aplets & Cotlets were born. The hundred year journey from then up until today is America in a nutshell. -- back of cover.

Color photos and accompanying text show the places where the Nez PercT Indians camped, crossed rivers, followed mountain trails, and sought refuge from Gen. Oliver Howard's pursuing troops between June and October 1877. In all, the Nez PercT covered about 1,500 miles in Idaho and Montana, outfighting and outsmarting the troops, before they were captured and sent to a reservation in Oklahoma.
